Kingsrose delivers maiden sustainability report
Kingsrose Mining (ASX:KRM) has released its first report integrating its sustainability progress and goals into its exploration activities.
Managing Director Fabian Baker says that this past year marks “meaningful” progress in the company’s overall commitment to responsible mineral exploration.
“Our focus on minerals discovery, vital to a clean energy future, is supported by exemplary and fit-for-purpose governance, environmental stewardship and community engagement,” Baker says.
Key environmental material topics identified include biodiversity, closure and rehabilitation, water stewardship and climate change.
Kingsrose, which has a market capitalisation of $24.11 million, is conducting biodiversity surveys, field inspections, and flora and fauna surveys.
Key social material topics were identified as economic impacts and employment, local communities, and rights of Indigenous peoples.
During the past financial year, Kingsrose has spent $1.2 million within local communities by employing 10 staff for local projects, six public meetings and recording more than 50 interactions with Indigenous peoples.
Key governance material topics were identified as health and safety, training and education, and anti-bribery and corruption.
Kingsrose says more than 20,000 hours were worked on projects and the company continues to support staff with job-specific training and implementing anti-bribery and corruption governance mechanisms.
Kingsrose is a mineral explorer focused on discovering critical mineral deposits prospective for nickel, copper, cobalt and platinum group elements in Finland and Norway.
