Finnmark Project
An early-stage magmatic copper-nickel-PGE sulphide generative program in the underexplored and prospective Karasjok Greenstone Belt, contiguous with the same age belt as Kevitsa and Sakatti.
In May 2024 BHP and Kingsrose entered into an exploration alliance agreement to explore for magmatic sulphide-hosted Cu-Ni-PGE deposits across approximately 2,800 square km of highly prospective greenstone belts in Finnmark, Northern Norway. To date BHP has sole funded approximately US$7.3 million for generative exploration activities on the Alliance, and Kingsrose now holds an unencumbered 100% interest in >3,800 square kilometres of exploration tenure.
Penikat Project
The Penikat Project is a high-grade platinum group elements (PGE)-nickel-copper deposit located in Lapland, North-Western Finland.
The project includes a multi-million-ounce Exploration Target prepared in accordance with the JORC Code. The Penikat project represents an opportunity to define a significant resource of PGEs – including platinum, palladium, and rhodium – which are essential to the energy transition and are listed as Critical Raw Materials by the European Union (2023).
It is our goal to define a low-impact, modern and sustainable project delivering PGEs to the EU. The high-grade and narrow nature of the mineralisation could make the project well suited to becoming a low impact underground project, utilising brownfield industrial sites in the area.
Råna Project
The Råna Project is a brownfield nickel-copper-cobalt project that is prospective for discovery of massive sulphide mineralisation.
Råna is located in Nordland County, Norway, 37 kilometres west by road from the town of Narvik and a deep-water, ice-free port which ships approximately 18-20 million tonnes of cargo per year, mostly from Swedish iron ore operations. As our program advances, we are excited to maintain our involvement with, and support for, both the local community and Sámi.
Central Finland
The Central Finland project is located in the Kotalahti Nickel Belt, a 400 kilometre long greenstone belt which hosts the past producing Hitura, Kotalahti and Enonkoski nickel mines.
In June 2023, Kingsrose acquired the exploration rights to four Reservations in central Finland: one in Haapajärvi and three in Suonenjoki, covering a combined area of 993.1 square kilometres. This project was initially supported by the BHP Xplor program.
